Potassium Titanate CAS#12030-97-6
Potassium titanate is an inorganic substance presented as white powder or crystalline salt, with the chemical formula K₂TiO₃. It frequently exists alongside fibrous titanate structures including K₂Ti₆O₁₃. This material is recognized for superior thermal stability and friction adjusting characteristics. As a white solid, it has a relative density of 3.1 and a melting point of about 1515°C. Upon contact with water, it reacts to produce strongly alkaline solutions.

Product Application of POTASSIUM TITANATE CAS#12030-97-6
Potassium titanate is extensively adopted within the welding electrode sector as a fluxing agent and analytical reagent. It is well suited for manufacturing low-hydrogen welding rods, AC/DC welding electrodes and stainless steel welding consumables.
Furthermore, it finds use in thermal insulation media, electrical insulating materials, catalyst supports and filter substrates. When applied in friction composites, potassium titanate outperforms asbestos noticeably: it can cut friction force by roughly 50% and lower wear loss by approximately 32%. This makes it ideal for brake linings, clutch components and other friction product systems.
Surface modification with Sb/SnO₂ endows potassium titanate with conductive properties. The treated product can act as a conductive filler or be compounded with polymers to fabricate conductive composite materials. Besides these uses, it works as an ion exchanger and adsorbent for industrial processes.
