Products Description of Lithium Metasilicate CAS#10102-24-6
Lithium silicate, a type of water-soluble silicate, is an odourless, tasteless clear liquid. It is miscible with water and alkaline media, yet shows no solubility in alcohols and other organic solvents.
Owing to the far smaller ionic radius of lithium ions compared with sodium and potassium ions, lithium silicate aqueous solutions possess a set of distinctive characteristics. Like sodium water glass, it undergoes chemical reactions with acids to generate silica gel.
Lithium silicate is manufactured through the high-temperature fusion of lithium carbonate and silicon dioxide. One of its applications is the calibration of thermoelectric components including thermocouples.
Aqueous lithium silicate solutions boast superior water resistance, thermal tolerance and durability against cyclic wetting and drying. They also feature exceptional self-desiccation and water-insoluble behaviour, which underpins their extensive adoption in anti-corrosion coatings, architectural coatings and high-end adhesives.

Product Application of Lithium Metasilicate CAS#10102-24-6
Lithium silicate, a chemical compound formed from metallic lithium and silicate radicals, is commercially referred to as lithium water glass. It finds utility within glass formulations, molten salt systems and high-temperature ceramic glazes. Besides, it serves as an anti-corrosive coating applied onto steel and other substrate surfaces for rust prevention.
