Product Description of Dioctyl Sebacate CAS#122‑62‑3 Dioctyl sebacate, also called bis(2‑ethylhexyl) sebacate (DOS), is obtained via the esterification reaction of sebacic acid and 2‑ethylhexanol. It mixes well with PVC, vinyl chloride copolymers, nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose and various synthetic rubber grades.
This plasticizer achieves efficient plasticization while showing minimal volatility. It is endowed with exceptional cold resistance, favorable heat tolerance, light stability and reliable electrical insulation. Besides, it offers good lubrication when exposed to heat during processing, which upgrades the visual effect and touch of final products.
Dioctyl sebacate is a preferred option for manufacturing low‑temperature resistant wire and cable materials, artificial leather, films, plates and sheets.
