Products Description of Candelilla Wax (CAS# 8006‑44‑8)
Also referred to as tung‑oil wax, candelilla wax is a pale‑yellow glossy waxy solid carrying an aromatic scent. This hard, brittle plant‑derived natural wax is extracted from candelilla shrubs. Containing distinctive resin fractions within its composition, it delivers outstanding resistance against temperature fluctuation.
It occurs as yellowish‑brown hard wax lumps or fine crystalline powder, ranging from opaque to translucent. Its key physical‑chemical indices cover a relative density of roughly 0.983, melting point of 67‑68 °C, iodine value of 37, and refractive index of 1.4555. The wax dissolves in chloroform, hot petroleum ether, toluene and alkaline media, shows slight solubility in 2‑(2‑tert‑butylaminoethoxy)ethanol, and remains insoluble in water.
