Product Description of Thiosalicylic Acid CAS#147-93-3
Thiosalicylic acid, also known as o-mercaptobenzoic acid, appears as white triclinic crystals or a white solid. It is soluble in ethanol and glacial acetic acid, and slightly soluble in water.
It is used in the synthesis of thioindigo dyes and also serves as a reagent for iron analysis. In addition, it is applied in the electroplating industry for the anti-corrosion treatment of ferrous metals, as well as for metal surface treatment. It is also utilized as a colorant in the ceramic industry.
