Product Details
Our lead coils and lead plates are ultra-high density pressed (UHDP) products manufactured from electrolytic lead with a purity of no less than 99.99%. Boasting an atomic number of 82 and a high density of 11.34g/cm³, these products deliver superior shielding performance, serving as the benchmark shielding material in the industry for high-energy X-rays, gamma rays and neutrons. They are perfectly suited for application in nuclear industry, medical radiotherapy and other sectors that impose stringent requirements on installation space and radiation protection levels.
Core Features of Lead Shielding Products
1. Superior All-round Protection Performance
Full-spectrum radiation shielding: The product achieves a shielding efficiency of over 99% for rays ranging from 10keV to 10MeV, covering 6-15MV high-energy gamma rays generated by medical linear accelerators. A 1mm-thick product offers equivalent shielding performance to standard 1mm lead (1mmPb).
Enhanced neutron shielding capability: Equipped with a composite cadmium layer, the product can effectively decelerate neutron radiation, making it a core functional material for nuclear reactor shielding scenarios.
2. Flexible Morphological Adaptability
Rigid lead plates: Featuring a high flatness tolerance of ±0.1mm, rigid lead plates are ideal for planar shielding structures including protective walls and radiation-proof doors. Custom thickness options are available from 1mm to 50mm to meet diverse engineering needs.
Flexible lead coils: With excellent bendability and wrapping performance (minimum bending radius ≥ 5 times the coil thickness), flexible lead coils are specially designed for wrapping pipelines, industrial equipment and curved building structures such as curved CT scan rooms. The conventional thickness range covers 0.5mm to 5mm.
3. Long-term Durability & Cost Efficiency
The products feature outstanding acid and alkali corrosion resistance, with optional epoxy resin surface coating for enhanced durability. They maintain stable physical and shielding properties in extreme temperatures ranging from -50℃ to 150℃, with a service life of more than 50 years. In addition, 100% recyclable and reusable, our lead shielding products deliver lower long-term operating costs compared with conventional composite shielding materials.

Core Application Scenarios
1. Medical Industry
Rigid lead plates: Applied in 2-3mm thick shielding walls for radiotherapy rooms and protective fences for CT machines, with lead tape sealing for all splicing gaps to ensure seamless shielding.
Flexible lead coils: Used for wrapping C-arms of angiography equipment and cladding the frames of mobile radiation screens, with a conventional thickness of 1.5mm.
2. Nuclear Industry
Applicable for 50mm composite lead liners for nuclear waste storage containers and lead-cadmium composite panels serving as neutron moderators for nuclear reactors. Also used for step-jointed lead glass matching lead plate shielding for hot cell observation windows and lead coil wrapping for weld seams of spent fuel transport channels.
3. Industrial & Civil Fields
Suitable for 3-10mm lead plate shielding in industrial flaw detection rooms and 0.5-1mm lead coil lining for radon-proof basement walls. Additionally, high-purity lead materials (99.995% purity) are adopted for electromagnetic shielding layers on data center ceilings and beam line protection for scientific research laboratories.

Professional Construction Guidelines
Plane Installation (Lead Plates): Fix the keel base firmly and lay lead plates in a staggered arrangement. Seal all joints with lead nails and lead tape for double-layer protection. Adopt stepped lap joints (lap width ≥100mm) for door and window openings, and fill pipeline penetration gaps with lead sleeves and lead putty to eliminate radiation leakage.
Curved Surface Construction (Lead Coils): Wrap pipelines and equipment directly with lead coils; seal longitudinal joints via cold pressure welding and cover with lead tape for reinforcement. For curved wall installation, apply adhesive backing for bonding and strengthen all joints with pressure strips.
Surface Protection: Cover the installed lead shielding with gypsum boards or apply protective paint to prevent mechanical damage and extend service life.
Safety Operation Precautions
For cutting and welding operations, ensure forced ventilation in the working area. All operators must wear EN 149 certified respiratory protective equipment to avoid lead dust inhalation. Waste lead materials must be recycled and disposed of by licensed professional institutions; arbitrary landfill disposal is strictly prohibited.
Industry Value
Thanks to their unparalleled radiation shielding performance, space-saving structural advantages and century-level stable performance, lead coils and lead plates remain the core and irreplaceable shielding materials for high-end precision fields including nuclear power energy and medical radiotherapy, serving as a solid foundation for modern industrial radiation protection systems.
