Hinged radiation shielding lead doors, also referred to as single-leaf swing lead doors, are customized for work areas featuring moderate radiation levels and airtight standards. Such doors are extensively installed at pedestrian access points where wall thickness and doorway width are limited. Owing to their compact layout, reliable radiation blocking capability and consistent operating performance, these swing lead doors deliver safe and hassle-free passage for medical establishments and industrial facilities equipped with radiation protection demands.

Product Structure

Door Panel

Multiple premium raw materials are adopted for manufacturing the door leaf. 201 and 304 stainless steel remain the primary options for exterior panels. A reinforced internal steel frame boosts structural toughness, while high-purity lead sheets (maximum purity of 99.994%) are embedded inside to achieve outstanding radiation attenuation performance. Apart from the standard materials, customers may choose alternative surface boards such as color-coated steel, cold-rolled steel and decorative panels to fit various design layouts and practical application scenarios.

 Lead Sheet

Lead sheets constitute the fundamental shielding component for hinged lead doors. These sheets are produced from standard Grade 1 electrolytic lead, known among practitioners as lead plate or lead sheet for radiation shielding projects.

Lead sheets can be fabricated with thickness between 0.1 mm and 160 mm. The maximum width is 1600 mm, and the maximum length is 13 m. Custom sizes and specifications are acceptable upon discussion according to distinct project conditions.

Manufacturers determine proper lead sheet thickness by referencing the required lead equivalent (Pb rating), guaranteeing excellent radiation shielding performance.

Product Categories

Hinged radiation shielding lead doors are categorized into two versions based on actuation modes: manually operated swing lead doors and motor-powered swing lead doors.

Manually operated swing lead doors rely on physical force to complete opening and closing movements. Their stable, simple construction makes them a suitable option for sites with low access frequency and no requirement for automatic access control.

In comparison, motor-driven swing lead doors are equipped with intelligent motor drive assemblies. Users can control door movement easily via physical buttons or remote controllers. Optimized for high-efficiency, convenient access scenarios, these doors are widely deployed in medical institutions, laboratories and dedicated industrial facilities that face frequent entry and exit demands.

1. Hinged Lead Shielding Door

Customers can select single-panel, double-panel and asymmetric unequal double-panel layouts, with both inward and outward opening directions available. Structural schemes and material standards are formulated according to radiation energy parameters (kV) and actual doorway dimensions. Custom-designed door frames are adopted, differing structurally from door leaves, to balance reliable radiation attenuation and stable mechanical performance.

2. Sliding Lead Protective Door

Sliding radiation shielding lead doors include single-leaf, double-leaf and overhead rail sliding styles. The door body runs parallel to the wall during operation. Structural design and material matching are determined by radiation intensity (kV level) and doorway specifications. Its frame structure differs from conventional swing doors, specially adapted to fit the sliding transmission system while retaining complete radiation shielding capability.

3. Electric Lead Protective Door

This product range consists of motor-driven sliding lead doors and motor-driven hinged lead doors.

Electric radiation shielding doors are mostly applied for large-sized door panels. The door body carries considerable weight, which creates difficulties for manual pushing. Therefore, electric driving systems become the mainstream solution. Two structural forms are available: swing hinged type and horizontal translation sliding type.

Reliable Radiation Shielding Performance

This protective door series delivers outstanding shielding capacity against common radioactive rays including X-rays and gamma rays. It greatly lowers radiation penetration and minimizes ray transmission, keeping the actual radiation exposure of medical staff and patients strictly within safe standard ranges during daily operation.

Durable and Long Lifespan

The door exterior adopts thickened steel plate structure, which greatly improves overall rigidity. The upgraded surface material provides strong resistance against daily abrasion, external impact and long-term frequent use, ensuring stable performance and prolonged service duration.

High Safety and Sanitary Performance

The door achieves full-range radiation isolation with stable protective effects. Its smooth surface allows simple cleaning and daily maintenance, supporting hygienic environment requirements for medical and laboratory scenarios. Meanwhile, the door runs with low noise and features excellent airtight sealing, creating a safer and quieter working environment for users.
